Mildred Socorro Cano-Velázquez received the BEng degree with honors in Telecommunications engineering from the School of Engineering of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), in 2013. She was awarded an Erasmus Mundus fellowship to pursue a Master’s degree in physics and technology of lasers at the Universidad de Salamanca (USal) and Universidad de Valladolid (UVa), Spain, graduating in 2015. She is currently enrolled in the Ph.D. program at the School of Engineering UNAM. Her main research interests are biophotonics as well as development and fabrication of biosensors.
