Dr. Teresita Spezzia Mazzocco received her  B. Sc.  in Chemistry and Biology from the Autonomous University of Puebla, her M.  Sc. degree in Biotechnology from  the Center for Research in Advanced Science and Applied Technology at IPN, and her Ph. D. in Biotechnology from Postgraduate College. She spent one year at the Institute of Forest Botany, Section Molecular Wood Biotechnology in Gottingen, Germany. Dr. Teresita has teaching experience in biological sciences at the Americas’s University. She has worked in biotechnology development with private companies.  She was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE) in the area of Biophotonics. Currently, she is a CONACyT fellow at INAOE.
