Photodynamic therapy.

Vanesa Pérez Laguna received her B.Sc. degree in Veterinary (2012) and her M.Sc. degree in Molecular Biology (2014) from University of Zaragoza, Spain. She is a Ph. D. student in Biochemistry from the same University (2014-present). Her research is focused on antimicrobial photodynamic therapy.

Vanesa spent a six month research visit in the Laboratory Ultrashort Pulse Lasers and Processing of Materials in the Optics Department at CICESE, where she focused her research on femtosecond laser-induced bacteria inactivation. She recieved a grant from the Mexican SRE (Secretaria de Relaciones Exteriores de México) and worked under the supervision of Dr. Santiago Camacho López.
